[Application Note] Sample Preparation for Phosphatidylethanol in Whole Blood
Pre-treatment for the analysis of three types of PEth in whole blood using ISOLUTE SLE+ liquid extraction method with LS-MS/MS.
Phosphatidylethanol is a highly specific alcohol biomarker, and the concentration of PEth in the blood correlates with alcohol consumption. This application note describes a sample preparation method for three types of PEth in whole blood using the ISOLUTE SLE+ liquid extraction method targeted for LC-MS/MS analysis. ISOLUTE SLE+ liquid extraction plates and columns provide an efficient alternative for the sample preparation of bioanalytical samples compared to traditional liquid-liquid extraction (LLE). High recovery rates are achieved without the formation of emulsions, significantly reducing the effort required for sample preparation. The simple sample preparation operation using ISOLUTE SLE+ allows for clean extracts to be obtained with high reproducibility and good recovery rates. This achieves a lower limit of quantification below 20 ng/mL. This method can be automated using the Biotage Extrahera. *You can download the English version of the catalog. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
